What we collect, and why

Reading the articles or using the scam checker or the agency checker requires no personal data. Both tools run in your browser: your answers are not sent to us.

Newsletter

Your email address, to send you the newsletter. Your subscription is only recorded once you click the confirmation link we email you, which is valid for 48 hours. Every issue contains an unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent.

Diagnostic and consultation

To order a diagnostic or book a consultation, you give your first name and email address, and optionally your last name, phone number and a message. The phone number is required for the consultation. We use this data to process the order, set up the consultation on Zoom and write to you about it. It is also kept in the customer file shared by the publisher's websites, without subscribing you to the newsletter. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

Diagnostic file

Once the diagnostic is paid for, a form lets you describe your situation: the platform, how long you have been talking, the amounts asked for or sent, your account of events, and what you know about the person involved (name, country, link to their profile). You can attach screenshots and photos. This information is used only to analyse your situation, with the consent you give in the form. Files are kept in private storage, never published, and can only be opened through temporary access links reserved for our team.

Payment

Payment takes place on the secure page of a payment provider (Bonzai or SquidLane), which receives your name, email address and order reference. You enter your card details with the provider: we neither see nor store them.

Form security

Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which uses technical browser signals and your IP address to check that they are sent by a person rather than a bot. To limit repeated submissions, we count them using a fingerprint of your IP address, not the address itself. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the site.

Cookies and analytics

Without your consent, the site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. It only stores in your browser your choice in the cookie banner, for six months, and the site language, for the length of your visit.

If you accept, we measure traffic with PostHog: pages viewed, clicks, journeys through the site, and a recording of how some visits unfold, in which form fields stay masked. To do this, PostHog sets a cookie lasting twelve months and stores data in your browser. Legal basis: your consent.

You can change your mind at any time with the button at the bottom of every page. Declining erases PostHog's cookie and data from your browser.

Payment pages and the bot check are run by their providers, who may set their own technical cookies.

Recipients

Your data is never sold or rented. Only the publisher and the providers who need it to deliver the service can access it:

  • Vercel: website hosting and private storage of the files attached to your diagnostic;
  • Supabase: customer file, newsletter and diagnostic files, hosted in the European Union;
  • a dedicated server run by the publisher: orders and bookings;
  • Resend: sending emails;
  • Bonzai and SquidLane: payment;
  • Zoom and Google Calendar: holding and scheduling the consultation;
  • Telegram: the messaging app through which our team is notified of an order and receives your diagnostic file;
  • Cloudflare: protecting forms against bots;
  • PostHog: analytics, with your consent.

Transfers outside the European Union

Vercel, Resend, PostHog, Zoom, Google and Cloudflare are based in the United States. Transfers to these providers are covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. The publisher, based in Georgia, reviews orders and files from Russia.

How long we keep your data

  • Orders, bookings and diagnostic files, attachments included: for the duration of the service, then 3 years after the relationship ends;
  • invoices: as long as the law requires;
  • newsletter: until you unsubscribe;
  • cookie banner choice: six months; PostHog cookie: twelve months;
  • IP address fingerprint: a few days.

Your Rights (GDPR)

You can access your data, have it corrected or erased, ask for a portable copy, object to its processing or restrict its use. You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting anything done before. Write to contact@arnaques-rencontres.fr: we reply within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority: www.cnil.fr
